The Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives are demonstrating the height of hypocrisy again. Republican congresspersons unanimously opposed the 2009 stimulus bill and omnibus appropriations. They did everything in their power to kill them and they attacked President Obama and the Democrats for passing them by calling the programs “socialistic” and calling the Democrats “socialists, communists, Nazis, etc. on national TV
The hypocrisy is evident, as 91 House Republicans have now taken credit for the local grants and economic benefits generated by the stimulus they opposed. Iowa’s 2 Republican congressmen (Tom Latham and Steve King) are not to be outdone. Both have issued press releases here in Iowa taking credit for local programs that they vociferously opposed and voted against in Washington, D.C. They and their Republican colleagues have earned induction into the Hypocrisy Hall of Fame.
